ABe's argument is...herm....
While I agree with the whole...for there to be light, there must be darkness.... Like: "There is no sun without shadow, and it is essential to know the night." -Albert Camus
But the whole...showing people war so they can see it's evil and learn that it's evil..... Well, people are seeing war, and still going to or wanting to go to war so.... I mean, I watch, say, Saving Private Ryan, which breaks my heart, and I don't understand how anyone could ever go to war after seeing something like that. Like, why would you put people through that? It's so awful. But I assume most people aren't bothered by it like I am, or things would be rather different, which is what was making it so dangerous.
So, I don't know that I really agree with the example he used, but I do agree that...well, I wouldn't want to live in a sterilized world either.

I also thought the new law was young people simply being portrayed in a sexual manner, and not just outright having sex.

The ABe doujinshi costs more than $1 here; "$3.53 includes VAT & international wireless delivery"

Also, for some reason I'd thought that the Youth Protection thing wasn't to do with the depiction of "young-looking people having sex", but with young people (or people of young apperance) being portrayed in a sexy (or sexually provocative) manner? Was I mistaken?
