NYCC linkage

I realize some people are sick to death of NYCC, so I’m gathering these links into a separate post.

You can listen to the audio of the Viz panel, which was pretty entertaining, at MangaCast.

Christopher Butcher completes his reflections on the con, including a nice writeup of the “Who Reads Graphic Novels” panel.

Anne Ishii of Vertical posts her thoughts after spending most of the weekend in the booth.

T Campbell, with whom I had the pleasure of sharing a table in Podcast Alley, reports on the webcomics panel.

Rivkah recounts her experiences.

And Tania del Rio turns her con experience into a webcomic.

UPDATE: The view from the other side of the fence. LOL!

I just saw your picture at Same Hat. I wish I had known what you look before the con so I could tell you in person how awesome your blog is. I was in the Del Rey panel with you. I was the guy begging Del Rey to buy the Yotsuba&! from ADV. Thanks for great con coverage.

  2. Hi Ed! I’m sorry I missed you too—I’ve seen your comments all over the mangasphere. Thanks for the kind words about the blog! And you’re right about Yotsuba&!, but don’t abandon all hope yet—a little birdie told me ADV may yet come through for us.

I’m probably going to Anime Boston, so if you’re going to be in the neighborhood, drop me an e-mail!

Brigid, I can’t make Anime Boston. I will be at Otakon and Baltimore Comic Con. Hopefully, we can see each other at one of those two. (P.S. I’m apparently Tania Del Rio’s biggest fan.)

  4. Oh, you’re the one who bought the printouts? ^_^

Actually, they were original pages I got her to send me. I really liked the story she did about her fears of ghosts in the basement. She was very generous and let me have them. I just wanted them signed :-) Tania is really one of the nicest people you can meet.

Of course all the creators I met at NYCC were wonderful. I hope you got to meet Frederica Manfredi, who flew in from Italy to be at the con. I didn’t know she wasn’t American until Tokyopop introduced her at the signing.
